A scientific seminar of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on April 22, 2025.
At the seminar, the Head of the Laboratory of Intelligent Information and Measurement Systems of the Institute Associate Professor Mazahir Isayev, DSc in Engineering, delivered a presentation on “Automated methods and means of calibration to ensure the accuracy of modern measuring instruments”. The presentation provided information on the development of automated methods and algorithms of calibration to ensure the accuracy of measuring devices (sensors) installed on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
M. Isayev noted that automated calibration of measuring instruments (sensors, transducers) operated in hard-to-reach conditions is a very serious problem. In this process high accuracy of measurements is achieved through sensor self-tuning and high-precision detection (recognition) of the current states of the conversion characteristic. In the calibration process, reference test signals and their combinations are used and a piecewise nonlinear approximation over the entire measurement range is performed.
The presentation was received with interest by the participants of the seminar, numerous questions on the topic were answered.
