
Employees of the Institute of Control Systems took part in an international conference

Head of the Public Relations Department of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Associate Professor Aygun Aliyeva, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Anar Rahimov, DSc in Mathematics, and researcher Sayara Hidayatzade participated as invited judges in the closing and awarding ceremony of the 6th International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Researchers dedicated to the 102nd birthday of the national leader Heydar Aliyev at the Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) of SOCAR.
Elmar Gasimov, Rector of BHOS, noted in his speech that such international scientific events are an important platform for the development of young researchers and realization of their scientific potential. He thanked the partner organizations and all participants for the high level of organization of the event.
Sevda Zargarova, Vice-rector for Education and Research of BHOS, in turn, emphasized that the papers prepared by the participants at a high scientific level contributed to the overall quality of the conference.
It was noted that this year's conference received 340 submissions from local and foreign young researchers. 300 submissions received positive feedback, accounting for 88 percent of the total number of submissions. A total of 198 students and young researchers from BHOS participated in this important scientific event.
Rasim Ibrahimov, Advisor to the CEO of SOCAR Downstream Management, and Faig Nasirli, Head of Database Management at PASHA Insurance, spoke at the event. The speakers emphasized the importance of the event and said that such scientific platforms are extremely valuable in terms of allowing students and young researchers to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, as well as to establish direct contact with industry experts.
Winners were then selected in the topics “Towards Sustainable Chemistry and Chemical Engineering”, “INFOTECH 2024” and “Petroleum Geology and Engineering”.
Students and young researchers from Baku Higher Oil School, Institute of Bioresources of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Ganja), Sumgayit State University, Institute of Petrochemical Processes of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan-French University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Engineering of the Republic of Azerbaijan , West Caspian University were awarded as the winners of the competition.
