
Seminar “The Unlimited Development of Highly Intelligent People and the Positive Outlook on Life of People with Disabilities” was held

A seminar organized by the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Research Institute of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University (BSU) with the support of Avrasiya Hospital and Etalon Hospital was held on June 30, 2025.
The seminar started with an opening speech by Associate Professor Elhan Sabziev, Acting Executive Director of ICS, Doctor of Technical Sciences.
Then, TÜBİTAK Professor Turgay Karakaş gave a talk on “The Unlimited Development of Highly Intelligent People and the Positive Outlook on Life of People with Disabilities.” The professor, born with cerebral palsy, told the seminar participants about his unique life and the invaluable contribution he has made to Turkish and world science despite the difficulties he faced. Born into a family of teachers, T. Karakaş was able to survive thanks to his boundless willpower and the support of his parents, successfully graduated from school, and enrolled in the Faculty of Astronomy and Space Sciences at Ankara University. In order to expand his knowledge in the field of aerospace engineering, he studied mathematics, physics, and chemistry and began working at the TÜBİTAK Institute for Defense Industry Research and Development. The scientist spoke in detail about his scientific achievements, mentioned the brotherly and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, and said that they are aimed at achieving joint scientific results in various fields.
Then the seminar participants asked questions, and Professor Turgay Karakaş was presented with gifts.
