An event was held at the Institute of Mathematics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of International Women's Day March 8. The event was attended by the institute’s administration, heads of departments and laboratories, as well as young scientists and specialists.
Opening the event, the Acting Director and Deputy Director of the Institute of Mathematics PLE Elkhan Sabziev, DSc in Engineering, spoke about the high position that Azerbaijani women have held in society throughout history. He said that projects implemented under the leadership of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva are a clear example of the high spiritual, intellectual, and moral values possessed by Azerbaijani women. He noted that Azerbaijani women, who were the first in the Muslim East to gain the right to vote and be elected, have always been distinguished by their advanced and progressive thinking. The scientist emphasized that the modern Azerbaijani woman plays a vital role in the development of society as a devoted mother, professional scientist, skilled politician, and civil servant. In conclusion, E. Sabziev congratulated the female employees of the Institute, wishing them happiness, success, and new scientific achievements.
Then, Mirza Jafarzade, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers of Azerbaijan took the floor. He spoke of the exceptional services of Azerbaijani women, who have been distinguished in all historical periods by their talent, intellect, and devotion to family and motherland, in preserving national and moral values, as well as their vital role in the development of science and education. He congratulated the female employees of the Institute, and through them, all Azerbaijani women, on the occasion of International Women's Day March 8.
Professor Knyaz Mammadov, DSc in Mathematics, Associate Professor Irada Mirzazade, PhD in Engineering, and Associate Professor Elman Ibrahimov, DSc in Mathematics, also spoke and congratulated all the women on this remarkable day, wishing them good health and continued success.
Concluding the event, Akbar Alizade, actor of the Academic Musical Theatre and Honored Artist, invited to the institute as a guest, in his speech highlighted the vital role of women in society. He emphasized the indispensable role women play in both family and public life, saying that this day is not only a holiday but also an expression of the high value placed on women's labor and dedication. Akbar Alizadeh congratulated the women on International Women's Day March 8 and performed a musical piece for the event participants.
At the end, gifts were presented to the female employees of the institute.
