Another General seminar was held at the Institute of Mathematics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on March 11, 2026. At the seminar, Head of the Laboratory of Algebra and Mathematical Analysis Eminaga Mammadov, PhD in Mathematics, made a presentation "On the solvability of the Dirichlet problem for second-order elliptic equations in Banach–Sobolev spaces defined in bounded domains."
The presentation was dedicated to the study of the solution to the Dirichlet problem for second-order elliptic equations in Banach–Sobolev spaces generated by the norms of symmetric spaces in bounded domains with smooth boundaries. Solvability is understood in the strong sense. In a special case, the existence of a trivial solution for the corresponding homogeneous problem implies the existence of a solution for the non-homogeneous problem.
It was shown that under certain conditions the problem under consideration is equivalent to solvability in Banach-Sobolev spaces.
The seminar participants discussed the topic and asked the speaker their questions.
