An event to commemorate the 20 January martyrs was held at the Institute of Control Systems

The event was attended by the administration of the Institute, heads of departments and laboratories, young scientists and specialists. First, the memory of the victims of the tragedy was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov opened the meeting and spoke about the historical roots and causes of the 20 January tragedy. He said that the Azerbaijani people had given many martyrs throughout history for their freedom and independence. However, the people's will was not broken and the national spirit was not shaken. The events of 20 January also showed that our people are determined to fight to protect their independence, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country. The martyrs of 20 January proved it once again by sacrificing their lives. A. Sadigov pointed out that the national leader Heydar Aliyev was the first to voice his attitude and strong protest against the 20 January tragedy and the grave crime committed against the Azerbaijani people. It was after the return of Heydar Aliyev to the leadership in our republic that the political and legal assessment of the 20 January tragedy was given. An extensive action plan was implemented to perpetuate the memory of the martyrs. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, a worthy follower of the national leader's political course, has always honored the memory of the victims of the 20 January tragedy and consistently provided material and moral support to their families. These events lay the foundation for educating our youth in the spirit of high patriotism. It is this spirit that led our army and people to the convincing victory in the Patriotic War for Karabakh under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, demonstrated to the world the determination of our soldiers and officers to fight for the cause of Azerbaijan. A. Sadigov expressed confidence that the people and the state of Azerbaijan will always honor the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland, and will provide full support to our veterans.
Then the Corresponding Member of ANAS Gorkhmaz Imanov, Professors Allahverdi Hasanov, Naila Musaeva, Gambar Guluyev, Farhad Pashayev, Associate Professors Tofig Babayev, Gulchin Abdullayeva, Adalat Pashayev, Rauf Gadimov, Rena Asadova, Rashad Mastaliyev and others spoke about the causes and consequences of 20 January. and shared their memories. They said that these events were one of the terrible tragedies of the Azerbaijani people, but also a symbol of the struggle for freedom of our people, a heroic chronicle of our history and will never be erased from the memory of the people. Speaking about her students who were killed in the Patriotic War, Professor Naila Musaeva could not hold back her tears, overwhelming all the participants of the event.
