
An event devoted to the International Day of Families was held at the Institute of Control Systems

On May 6, an online event devoted to the International Day of Families15 May organized by the Women's Council of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The event was attended by the administration of the institute, members of the Women's Council, the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, the Trade Union, representatives of the departments of education and public relations and others.
Opening the event, Associate Professor Rena Asadova, PhD (Eng), Chairperson of the Women's Council of ICS, noted that the topic of the UN Family Day 2021 is "The impact of digital technologies on social development and family well-being: megatrends, climate change, migration trends." Speaking about the history of the UN Family Day, she said that the main purpose of the foundation of this day was to attract the attention of the world community to family issues, to regulate family relations and to ensure the well-being of the family. R. Asadova pointed out that many state programs, events, social projects are being implemented and committees are created in the area of family policy on the basis of presidential decrees in Azerbaijan. R. Asadova also shared her views on the impact of the development of digital technologies on society.
Then the Executive Director of ICS, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov noted that the importance of family problems, the implementation of practical measures in this direction is not accidental, since the family is a small state and the stability and strength of society directly depends on the strength of families. He said that the institution of the family in Azerbaijan is distinguished by its values, norms, the important role of women and sets us apart from other peoples with a number of advantages.
A. Sadigov noted that the emergence of high technologies as a revolutionary process, as a positive trend, increases the role of women in all spheres of life, which facilitates women's housework. Unfortunately, this situation causes certain problems in family relationships, especially in caring for and paying attention to children. Speaking about the work done in this area, the scientist emphasized the need for media coverage of the exemplary family model.
Then, Associate Professor Gulchin Abdullayeva, PhD (Math) spoke about the changes that had taken place in the family and society in general with the advent of social networks. She noted that although the development of technology had initially played a positive role in people's lives, unfortunately, it had also led to many problems and had radically changed society. Speaking about false information on social networks, which is used by half of the world's population, G. Abdullayeva said that the growth of disinformation could cause confusion in the society. G. Abdullayeva also
spoke about reducing poverty, problems of mother and child, raising literacy among women and the work done in this area.
Speaking at the event, Ilgar Mammadov, DSc (Math), spoke about the negative impact of climate, water and migration problems on the family and society as a whole, as well as the important role of women in the family.
In the end, Rahila Sadigova, PhD (Eng), spoke about the negative and positive impact of digital technologies on people's lives and the important role that technologies play in the daily activities of people during a pandemic.
