A scientific seminar of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan was be held on April 30, 2024. The meeting discussed paper "Necessary first- and second-order optimality conditions in optimal control problems described by nonlinear and quasilinear stochastic Goursat-Darboux systems" by leading researcher of the laboratory of ICS "Control methods in complex dynamic systems", Associate Professor Rashad Mastaliyev, PhD in Mathematics.
The speaker Rashad Mastaliyev first talked about obtaining the first-order necessary condition in the form of Pontryagin's maximum principle for optimality in the optimal control problem described by nonlinear stochastic Goursat-Darboux systems. He then considered the special case in which this necessary condition is violated and discussed the necessary conditions obtained for the optimization of singular controls.
In continuation of the presentation, Rashad Mastaliyev considered a special case of the problem of optimal control of a quasilinear Goursat-Darboux system. He emphasized that in this case the individual necessary conditions for optimality of singular control have been found. Thus, these necessary conditions are not a consequence of the necessary conditions accepted in the general case, but are of separate value.
The presentation aroused the interest of the audience, and questions on the topic were answered.
